Val Oliver has been entertaining young and old alike in schools and libraries across the country for over 20 years. Her fun and upbeat demonstration of the art of yo-yo and top spinning keeps all ages engaged and entertained. Her "Science of Spin" show not only demonstrates, but also introduces the science behind these toys, as well as providing tips on getting started and successfully using the yo-yo.

A story is read plus a craft afterwards. Participants in the Summer Reading Club who attend the Children's Storytime sessions scheduled during the summer can record the stories read at those sessions on their reading logs to count toward their reading goals.
